When approached by Innovate RA to develop a brand new app featuring expert, personalised advice for sport shoe selection, I teamed up with ScorpionDev to deliver the Ultimate Shoe Selector app for iPhone and iOS.
About the Project
Ultimate Shoe Selector is designed to take the guesswork out of finding the right shoes for your needs. Just answer a few simple questions, and the app will match you with a personalised list of shoes compiled by shoe industry experts. Then, with the 'Where to Buy' Feature, the app can direct you to the nearest retailer so you can make a purchase.

Designing the App
Wireframing
I began by developing wireframes to articulate the experience for the shoe selection process, shoe information screens, and the ‘Where to Buy’ tool.
UI Design
Once we had the UX nailed down with the wireframes, I proceeded to skin the UI using a bold, sporty look
Custom Icon Set
The shoe selection interface required almost 100 unique icons - to represent various sports and activities, shoe features, surfaces and foot types. For each I designed a custom icon.
Design of Marketing Materials
Ultimate Shoe Selector Website
Partnerships with shoe brands, retailers, and podiatrists are at the core of Ultimate Shoe Selector's ability to deliver up-to-date advice to app users. This website was created as a prospectus, to present the benefits of listing in the app to each type of stakeholder.

Print Ads

Social Media Assets
I designed numerous ads for distribution via social media - promoting the usefulness of the app to various markets. By designing multiple ads we were able to appeal to people who were interested in a variety of different sports, and who would have very different reasons for downloading the app.
